March 16th, 1981, /5, Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That notwithstanding the absence of Alderman Keryluk from more than three consecutive regular Council meetings the City Treasurer be instructed to continue regular indemnity payments to him; AND THAT the provisions of Section 4 of the "Council Indemnity By-law, 1981, No, 1824" are hereby waived. NEW BUSINESS: Alderman Muldoon referred tothe pedestrian bridge over the Coquitlam River at Patricia Avenue and advised that a parent had expressed concern to Alderman Muldoon concerning children walking on the railing of the bridge and asked whether the Public Works Committee would be prepared to examine this matter. Alderman Traboulay advised that in his opinion the Public Works Committee would be unable to help in this particular instance as it was the parents' responsibility to educate their children so they do not undertake such dangerous procedures, Alderman Muldoon advised that the discharge of firearms on the Coquitlam District side of the DeBouvillo Slough was of a concern to her. Moved by Alderman Muldvon: That the Municipal Council of the District of Coquitlam be asked to prohibit. the discharge of firearms adjacent to the DeBouvillo Slough. Lost for Want of a Seconder. Prior to consideration of the resolution quoted above Alderman Wright advised that this matter had been broug?: to the attention of the District of Coquitlam by Port Coquitlam Council last year and that as a result of that representation the District was preparing an extensive report on the subject which was expected to be available for consideration in June of this year. Alderman Traboulay referred to an Energy Conference being held on March 19th and 20th, 1981 at the University of British Columbia and suggested that two members of the Council be permitted ta attend.
