Dear Sir: PE: Flooding ~ Broadway Street-Coast Meridian Road Area and Fest Prairie Avenue res We would edvise that at the regular neeting of Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam held en July 17th, 1972, dele- gations were in attendunce from the above noted area and addressed the Councdi with reference tu the flooding of preperty that had occurred during the heavy reine in tie previous veek. ‘ithe residents brought to the Council's atteation the inadequate pumying facilitics at the dykes and theix fecling that an unsatisfaccory wndstenance progran existed fer these pumps was algo conveyed to the Council and, accordingly, the following resolution passed: “That the City contect the authority now responeible for the maintenance of the drainage ditches and pumpa and stress the need for proper raintenance and offer to have. this done by the City if required.” Additionally, we were also instructed to contact the Water Kkesources Brench of the Provincial Department of Lands, Forests end Water Resources and aak them to iexediately cormence the deaien of the nev flood protection works under the Fedcral-Provincial Program in order that work could be completed at an early date, Additionally, we suggested to the Water Resources Service that a meeting between officers of this City and of that Department vould be of value and could perhaps be held during the latter part of August or the early part of September. .
