Scott | A ; Jd a ~- an. . . 3; Re: Regional Board Meeting The request of ouz City for early diversion of the sewer lagoon to the Annacis Island system was considered by the G.V.R.D. Board. While the Rawn Report envisaged continued operation of the lagoon for a number of years, development in our City has increased the loadings on the Lagoon and even with the installation of aerators, there have been izny complaints on odors emanating from the lagoon. The Board agreed to our request and the sewage now being treated at the lagoon will he diverted to the Annacis Plant as soon as that facility is in - operation. The following report was submitted to the G.V.R. Hospital District Board on the proposed Coquitlam Hospital: COQUITLAM and DISTRICT HOSPITAL Some time ago the Greater Vancouver Regional Hospital District Board approved a grant of money to Coquitlam and District Hospital Saeciety fer the development of _ a rele statement and functional program. At that time the forecast. size of the Hospital based on the 1969 Management Science Report, was 225 acute beds and 75 4 extcénded care beds. In late August the Minister of Health Services and Hospital Insurance met with representatives of the District, the Hospital Society, and the Municipalities concerned and announced the decision of the Government relative to the Hospital's development. The Minister subsequently confirmed his eppreval in writing to the ‘Hospital Society as follows: "This is to confirm that subject to the concurrence of the Greater Vancouver Regional Hospital District, I approve the construction of a 150-bed Acute Care Unit without the provision of obstetrical facilities.
