Contributed by Gord Shaben Anyone who has attended the numerous benefit concerts and dances given over the years by members of the Terrace Musi- ‘cians’ Association would prob- ably agree that they are generous affairs. It’s a simple formula for success, combining talent and community participation with a group effort to achieve benefits for the community along with fun and good music. “These benefits sometimes en- hance the community as a whole (as in the case of the bandshell) and sometimes a particular group or individuals. Our most recent event, the ‘‘Entertainment Extravaganza” held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13, was a big suc- cess and raised enough money to buy two TeleGard emergency alert: systems for deserving in- dividuals in this area who need them to continue living indepen- dent lives with , security and peace of mind. All the people involved in this effort deserve * recognition. Thanks to everyone who sup- ported the benefit; we’re looking forward to the next one.
