THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C O N C [ MEMORANDUM DEC 2 4 {984 TO: _ Be Kirk, December 21, 1984 City Administrator FROM: Works and Services Committee SUBJECT: Installation of Bus Shelter On Eastern Drive Between Claucia and Deita RECOMMENDATION: That a bus sheiter be installed on the north side of Eastern Orive between Claudia and Delia at an estimated cost of $4,000 to be funded from the 1984 Unallocated Public Works Budget. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: A recent request has been made by Mr. Rotston of 2123 Sandra Way to have a bus shelter installed on the north side of Eastern Drive between Claudia and Delia. This request is supported by a petition signed by over one hundred residents in the surrounding area. This request for a bus shelter is very timely ia that it is the intention of the Works and Services Committee in 1985 to assess the need for the instal tation of bus shelters in the City and subsequently prepare a priority list for such instal{ations in the future. Although the detailed Information from Metro Transit to support the priority list is not available at this time, it appears that the installation of a bus shelter at the location requested by Mr. Rolstor: would be fairly high on the priority list anyway, since it will serve a relatively high density residential area (i.e. Mary Hil! Row Housing). The cost estimate for a relatively low maintenance bus shelter is $4,000. in the 1984 Unallocated Public Works Budget to cover the cost Funds are available of this shelter. The Committee recommends the installation of this bus shelter. Hevea ME aE Pag WAST BOATERS aa z, er we sete renee etree ete, TMC/sgg - Attachments (4) R67
