SUBJECT: Request for Streetlighting North of 2179-81 Westem Drive
(Pablic Works Committee Meeting of August 11, 1992)

RECOMMENDA TIONS:

That Council approved installation of a streetlight in the lane north of 2179-81 Western Drive at
an estimated cost of $1000.00.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum dated June ist, 1992 and
the attached petition received July 28th, 1992 regarding a letter from Mr. V. McCartney of 2179
Westem Drive requesting that a streetlight be placed in the lane behind his propery

The Public Works Committee noted that this lane is used by pedestrians and that the adjoining
neighbours are in favour of the placement of this streetlight.

The Committee recommends that Council approve option in the June 1st, 1992 memorandum for
the placement of two poles and a streetlight at an estimated cost of $1000.00. The cost of this
project would be charged to the Public Works Maintenance account.
