Recommendation:

That the City not support the purchase of a portable pump and
generator as suggested by the LMMA Dvking Committee.

The attached letter from Mayor DeJong of tne LMMA DykKing
Committee was discussed with the Works & Service Committee,

Tne Committee felt that there was not much merit in the
Proposal from a practical polnt of view,

Secondly, in the event of an

considerable time would be lost tn bringing the pump to where
it is required,

The City has an emergency generator capable of Operating our
dyke pumps. Therefore in +the event of a power loss in one area
we can quickly react to get the dyke pumps going again.
