4 THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM ( 0 5 F * F ONG MEMORANDUM _ a Noy » 198} TO: B. Kirk, October 26, 1981 City Administrator NOV 4 1981 v we FROM: 'P.E. Peters, City Engineer SUBJECT: Proposed Bus Route on Victoria Drive - Public. Works Committee, October 20th, 1981 RECOMMENDATION: That we stay with the existing bus service on the north ‘side of the City. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: Mr. John Mills of the G.V.R.D. Transit Department had been requested to consider a possible rerouting of the "Prairie" bus which turns at Chelsea. It had been suggested that this bus should be rerouted to pick up the new housing along Victoria Drive. Mr. — ‘Mills advised that the only way this area could be served without serious disadvantage to the present users would pe to reroute both the "Prairie" and the "Coast Meridian" bus routes on a reverse loop system. This would mean taking the "Coast Meridian" bus off the | Coast Meridian/Wellington route and serving only Wellington and Victoria Drive. Other options were considered by the Committee but it ‘appeared that no other routes were possible without actually adding more buses and that the addition of buses was not possible due to lack of equipment. The Committee therefore made the above recom- mendation and would expect that the situation would be reviewed when the. north side of Victoria Drive is also developed. oN Am. { NE F.E. Peters, P.
