V3C 2A8 Dear Mayor Traboulay: AS you are aware, Canada Post is upgrading mail delivery Service in many Canadian communities through the Community Mail Centre program. On January 30, 1989 the Council of Port Coquitlam passed a motion reaffirming its Opposition to the introduction to your community of the Community Mail Centre program. Your position concerns us greatly because of the impact on our customers: approximately one thousand households are not getting the upgrade in mail service to which they are entitled. At our February 16, 1989 meeting, you made Suggestions for changes to mail service in Port Coquitlam which we agreed to review. YOu suggested that Canada POSt "phase in" the Community Mail Centre program by providing delivery through green group boxes on an interim basis for one year. You also suggested that we extend hours and locations at which general delivery is offered. These suggestions, if implemented, would mean two changes of delivery within a year and would unnecessarily inconvenience Our customers. [awcaee iil =
