Over the period of the war years, Cana-dians acquired the habit of sav-ing through Victory Bonds and I War Savings Certificates. It is I a habit which they like be-: cause when a cross-section of i Bond buyers and War Savings Certificates purch^sers were questioned recently about their potential support of the new Loan EIGHT OUT OF TEN sig-I nified they would be in the I market. Definitely! Not only that but before the 1 question was propounded pur-1 posively, many people, realizing their Ninth Victory Bond pay-ments would soon be complet-ed, began to ask how they j could continue to save system-! atically and at a good interest1 rate. , This public expression is a good one. It shows that people are thinking of both the present and the future. The need of the present to prevent inflation and when there is a short-age of consumer goods, such as now exists, every dollar spent unecessary is potentially an inflation dollar. Every dollar saved is not only non-infla-tionary but anti-inflationary. The need of the future is se-curity — security against ill-ness, lack of employment and other troublés which beset the! path of humanity. COPENHAGEN ON “GRIPSHOLM” SCHEDULE IN DECEMBER The Swedish American liner Gripsholm will proceed to Cop-enhagen, Denmark, via Gothenburg, Sweden, on the trip leaving New York, December 6, it was announced yesterday. The arrangements are made, according to G. H. Lundbeck, Jr., U.S. Managing Director of the Line, in order to facilitate travel to Denmark for those who would like to spend Christinas “in the old country” for the first time in many years. “A large number of Danish-Americans already have made reservations on the Gripsholm and many more undoubtedly will take advantage of the op-portunity to go 'direct to the Danish Capital without neces-sity of traveling through Sweden,” Mr. Lundbeck said.
